A striking hand-crafted brass flush-mount ceiling light dating from the 1960s. The sculptural construction, substantial weight and carefully executed metalwork demonstrate an exceptionally high level of craftsmanship. The cylindrical brass body features a beautiful hand-hammered surface and a naturally developed dark patina. Its crown-like silhouette is formed by individually shaped, outward-curving elements with circular openings. Three dramatically projecting mounting arms complete the sculptural design. Particularly noteworthy are the original fastening screws with their distinctive faceted, hand-hammered heads, which appear almost like small decorative jewels. When illuminated, the light reveals its full beauty. The warm reflection from the brass interior produces a wonderfully rich golden glow, while the openings and raised crown create atmospheric highlights on the surrounding ceiling. The contrast between the dark patinated exterior and the glowing golden interior gives the fixture a dramatic yet highly sophisticated appearance.
An E26/E27 ceramic socket is mounted directly to the ceiling and remains physically and electrically separate from the brass shade. The brass body has no contact with the socket or electrical wiring. The ceramic socket is designed for contemporary European electrical installations and, as an electrically insulating component, does not itself require grounding.
Professional installation in accordance with local regulations is recommended. Six identical examples are available. Each light is priced and sold individually, allowing them to be installed separately, in pairs or as an impressive architectural group.
