This perfect jewelry casket fabricated in Coromandel wood was manufactured by a famous Austrian manufacturer of leather goods, exotic boxes, cases and accessories known as August Klein. The brass label on the front edge is engraved A. Klein, Boulevard des Capuccine 6, Paris where one of the A. Klein boutiques operated in the 1800's.
This box features a high gloss Coromanel wood exterior casing, luxurious purple velvet and black taffeta interior lining, and articulated brass opening hardware patented by Betjimanns. The large center storage space has a removeable tray for dual layered storage. The lid is mirrored and framed in black leather and when the lid is lifted open, the articulated side trays and front panel open in unison with the top. The bottom exterior is line with black felt.
