Organic modern table features a naturally formed intertwined burlwood base with a rectangular glass top. Burlwood has been valued by furniture makers for centuries because of its unusually complex grain. The table celebrates the irregularity and sculptural beauty of natural wood, while the transparent glass allows the extraordinary base to remain visible. The base is composed of multiple twisting and interlocking sections of naturally figured wood, creating an almost architectural composition of gnarled roots, knots, hollows, burls, and undulating grain. A substantial flat rectangular glass top provides a crisp counterpoint to the rugged organic base. This juxtaposition of irregular wood beneath a simple plane of glass is what gives the table a strong modern presence.
This table will make an exceptional statement dining table in a contemporary home. It would be ideal in Organic Modern or Modern Coastal interiors due to its irregular wood grain and the weathered, natural characteristics of the base. Due to its generous 6 foot x 4.6 foot glass surface, it could also function as a dramatic library table, conference table, or executive desk. See less
