A delicate blue, yellow and ochre scrolling border surrounds the composition, giving the piece a distinctly Provençal character.

The plate is tin-glazed earthenware (faïence) with hand-painted decoration and has two holes on the reverse for wall display. The small 6.5-inch scale makes it particularly versatile for a decorative grouping, kitchen or dining area, or layered into a collection of French ceramics.

Atelier Bondil was established in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie in 1980 by Reine and Jean-Pierre Bondil and continues the village's long tradition of handmade Provençal faïence. The workshop is recognized as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) and continues to produce traditional and contemporary faïence.
