The box features a hinged lid with brass hardware and side carrying handles, and opens to reveal a spacious, unlined interior. The top and front panels are exquisitely decorated with intricate mother-of-pearl (shell) inlay, depicting a lively scene of birds perched amongst blossoming branches with rockwork and foliage.
