Bringing a little nostalgic Americana to your walls! This is a framed winter farm landscape signed "H. Hargrove" (the well-known pseudonym of artist Nicolo Sturiano) in the lower right corner. It's got all the classic Hargrove hallmarks - a snow-covered wooden covered bridge, a red barn, a windmill in the distance, a bare wintry tree, a tied-up rowboat at a frozen creek, and three mallard ducks banking in for a landing. The surface has a textured, slightly dimpled finish consistent with the serigraph/oil-enhanced canvas technique this artist is known for.
The piece is presented in a heavy, dark stained wood frame with a molded/ribbed profile and a cream linen fabric mat between the frame and canvas - very typical of how these were sold as home decor pieces back in the day. The palette is soft and wintry: pale gold sky, white snow, warm red barn accent, ochre bridge wood, and brown bare branches. It's a cozy, well-composed scene that would look great in a farmhouse, cabin, den, or anywhere you want a touch of rustic charm.
A great find for collectors of American folk art, vintage duck/wildlife decor, or anyone who loves a nostalgic winter farm scene. Don't miss out - message with any questions before you buy!
