A beautifully crafted Chinese square box, likely made of Huali (rosewood). The piece features a nine-grid configuration with nine individual drawers, each fitted with a brass ring pull. The top drawer faces and the sides of the box are deeply and intricately carved in relief with dynamic scenes of dragons chasing a flaming pearl amidst stylized clouds. The box is constructed with traditional joinery and opens to reveal spacious, unlined compartments, making it an ideal storage box for jewelry, seals, or other small treasures.
