Aldo Luongo- As one of the most successful painters of modern time. His art is praised by critics for creating a resurgence of the impressionist movement in modern day America. While critics and collectors alike have praised Aldo Luongo's technical skill as an artist, it is his passion that is the most iconic part of a Luongo painting. He began selling prints of some of his black and white drawings with great success in the early 1970s. Following that success, he began to produce new acrylics paintings and other fine art prints. With an artistic style that Aldo Luongo describes as "Romance on canvas," the artist owes much of his success to his one of a kind style. Many art critics have credited Luongo for single handedly created resurgence in the impressionist style and using his art to push the genre forward. The artist most frequently paints people and is renowned for his ability to convey complex emotions. The best, and most obvious, example of this is with his recurring figure the Hawk. Many art critics believe the Hawk is a representation of Luongo's father, but Luongo has not confirmed or denied that. He only says that the Hawk is meant to be "The ultimate old man." His work also features scenes from daily life, women, and city and landscapes. Today, Aldo Luongo's work has exploded in popularity. He has been the official artist of the Olympic Committee four times and has also been the official artist of the Men's and Women's Soccer World Cup. His work hangs in many museums around the world and is extremely popular among collectors. Many celebrities including Charlton Heston, Kevin Costner, Rob Riner, and Dionne Warwick collect his art. Luongo even painted the eggs for the White House Eastern Egg hunt and his "Eggs" are now on display at the Smithsonian. Aldo Luongo continues to paint and produce prints today with much success. His prolific career has lasted over 40 years and his artwork is only getting more popular as the year pass.
