A beautifully crafted Chinese rectangular box, likely made of Huali (rosewood). The box features a hinged lid that opens to reveal a spacious, unlined interior. The top of the lid is exquisitely decorated with a carved, multi-colored hardstone (or jade) appliqué, depicting two birds perched on a flowering branch with rockwork, a traditional motif symbolizing harmony and good fortune. A lovely piece for storing jewelry, seals, or other small treasures.
