A beautifully crafted Chinese rectangular display stand or low table, likely made of Huali (rosewood). The piece features a flat top and is supported by an intricately carved, openwork apron on all sides. The top surface is exquisitely decorated with delicate mother-of-pearl (shell) inlay, depicting a lively scene of two birds perched on flowering plum blossom branches. A sophisticated piece for displaying teaware, scholar's objects, or collectibles.
