An exceptional vintage mid-century modern footed pedestal serving platter and centerpiece bowl manufactured by the Crescent Silverware Manufacturing Company (Pattern #5287), dating circa 1950. Crafted in Port Jervis, New York, this elegant two-piece set seamlessly blends functional utility with ornate Hollywood Regency styling.
The heavy silver-plated pedestal stand boasts a dramatically wide rim sculpted with a highly detailed, relief-molded grapevine motif showcasing dense grape clusters, tendrils, and leaves. The flat interior serving surface is beautifully enhanced with intricate, machine-chased floral scrolls and scrolling plume engravings.
The set includes its original, perfectly fitting clear glass utility liner. The liner drops directly into the caddy to safely preserve the silver plating from scratching, knife marks, or acidic foods when entertaining. This piece is exceptionally versatile for a modern home, ideal for serving holiday pies, cakes, baked goods, hor d'oeuvres, or functioning standalone as a striking dining table fruit centerpiece bowl. Stamped on the underside with the official Crescent manufacturer's hallmark symbols and design pattern number 5287.

The silver-plated frame is entirely free of dents, dings, warping, or metal cracks. The relief-sculpted grape border and interior chased engravings are crisp and highly detailed. The heavy glass insert is bright, clear, and perfectly intact with no cloudiness, deep scratches, or cracks. The underside of the silver footed base displays heavy, natural dark tarnish blooming and spotting, adding authentic vintage character. The tarnish can be left as is for a storied antique look or polished out with a professional silver paste cleaner if a high-gloss finish is preferred. less
