Striking vintage Gucci figural duck box, crafted in Italy in richly detailed brass-tone metal and signed “GUCCI MADE IN ITALY” on the underside.
The substantial sculptural form depicts a resting duck with exceptionally detailed plumage throughout the head, breast, wings and tail. Deeply modeled feathers and an aged, warm brass finish give the piece wonderful texture and dimension.
The upper portion of the duck lifts to reveal a concealed interior compartment, allowing the sculpture to function as a decorative lidded box or catchall. At 11.5 inches long, this is a substantial Gucci decorative object with excellent presence on a console, cocktail table, desk, bookshelf or bar.
A distinctive example of Gucci’s vintage Italian decorative accessories and an especially appealing piece for collectors of Gucci home objects, animal-form accessories and Italian design.
