This sofa has that wonderfully relaxed, low-slung profile characteristic of late mid-century and 1980s postmodern design, with softly tufted backs, generous cushions, and an organic curved configuration reminiscent of designs by Vladimir Kagan.
The sectional is made up of seven individual pieces, including a chaise, allowing it to be arranged in several different configurations depending on the space. Its original warm ivory/cream upholstery gives it a soft, tonal look that works beautifully in both contemporary and vintage interiors.
The sofa remains comfortable and very usable in its current condition. The original upholstery shows mild age-appropriate wear and some areas of discoloration consistent with a vintage piece, but we have happily used it as-is. It could certainly be reupholstered for a completely refreshed look, but we never felt it was necessary.
A substantial and increasingly hard-to-find modular piece with a beautiful sculptural presence.
