Both dolls are 8 inches tall and are wearing traditional folk costumes. The dolls have expressive hand painted faces with arched eyebrows and flirty side glancing eyes and are made of pose-able stuffed cloth over wire frames. Molded felt character dolls were developed in Barcelona and figures for many characters were made, with the lacemaker being fairly rare. Most are less than 12 inches high, with painted features and a mohair wig. Generally the lacemaker dolls are dressed in very detailed costumes, representing various Spanish provinces.

The special details of this female lacemaker doll include the net gloves, the ribbon adorned hair net, the lace maker pillow, the intricate bodice and apron. Her dress is made of a printed cotton sateen with an apron adorned with lace and sequins and a muslin under skirt. She has a theatrical pose and is holding her lacemaker pillow. The male shepherd doll features a cotton velveteen cropped jacket and pants with bead detail, a red felt cap and scarf, a red ribbon cummerbund, and a felt covered staff. He also has a charming, expressive pose.

These are vintage dolls so they have some minor condition issues including some dust and fading. On the male doll, the inner wire of the staff is visibly showing above the felt covering at the top of the staff. See less
