Antique Albert Matthews panoramic landscape watercolor painting.
Albert Matthews was an American watercolorist active in California around 1900. Matthews is best known for his soft, pastoral watercolor scenes featuring tranquil rivers, marshy coastlines, and scattered livestock. His compositions frequently highlight atmospheric water reflections and sweeping, low-contrast skies. Detailed birch or eucalyptus trees bordering calm waters. Earth tones featuring muted greens, siennas, and soft ochres characteristic of the Early California style.
