A glamorous 1960s Belgian ceramic centerpiece bowl by Hubert Béquet of Quaregnon, with all the drama and decorative appeal Chairish buyers love.
The sculptural form features a deep chocolate-brown glazed interior accented with raised multicolored floral and foliate decoration, finished with a striking twisted gilt rim. The soft pink exterior adds an unexpected contrast, giving the piece a distinctly romantic, maximalist quality.
Beautifully scaled for a dining table, console, coffee table, or sideboard, this bowl works equally well as a functional centerpiece or purely decorative object. Its rich palette and metallic detailing make it especially suited to Hollywood Regency, Grandmillennial, French-inspired, maximalist, and eclectic interiors.
The underside is marked “H. Bequet – Quaregnon – Made in Belgium” and carries an impressed number believed to read 701.
