These single-light torchères are richly worked from top to base and are sold with the large pillar candles shown.

Each stand is crowned with a spiked acanthus corona. Directly beneath the cup is a second collar of three hand-forged acanthus leaves. Midway down the shaft, a bundled cluster of upwardly curled leaves wraps the post. The upper and lower sections of the column are dressed with star-pattern file work and along the base legs. Just above the tripod, more leaves spring from the shaft, with three additional acanthus leaves set between the scrolled volute feet.

The posts rise from tripod bases with acanthus wraps at the junctions and terminate in beautifully scrolled feet. Both holders retain their original spikes to keep the candles in place. The finish is a deep black with the texture of hand-forged iron. The pair includes the two oversized used pillar candles pictured. A strong architectural pair for a fireplace, entry, or dining room. Sold as a matching set with candles.
