Description:
A charming, handmade wall plaque by Gert Block Exclusives of Flushing, New York. Block was a Queens artist known for collage wall hangings and jewelry made from antique watch and clock parts.
Three dancing girls in flower-petal skirts twirl across a glossy black lacquer ground among golden vines. Block added a small vintage watch dial, watch gears, screw-head accents and amber rhinestones. The oval form has a gold-painted edge and back, a decorative brass ring pull and the original artist label.
It’s a delightful mix of fairy-tale illustration and quirky, early steampunk craft. It would look great in a gallery wall, nursery, dressing room or powder room.
Condition: Good vintage condition with light wear from age. The label on the back is held on with old tape.
Shipping: Buyer pays shipping. Local pickup available in Port Washington, NY. See less
