Vintage Kalmar Designs Teak Cheese Board & Serving Tray with Original Stainless Knife – Mid-Century Modern, 1960s–70s
DESCRIPTION
A wonderfully collectible vintage Kalmar Designs teak cheese board and serving tray, complete with its original stainless-steel cheese/butter knife. Dating to the 1960s–1970s, this distinctive Mid-Century Modern entertaining piece was crafted in Thailand and showcases the warm natural beauty of teak with a thoughtful, highly functional design.
The rectangular teak serving board features a partitioned layout with a square recessed serving well and an integrated recessed channel designed specifically to hold the original knife neatly within the tray. The included stainless-steel knife is marked “Kalmar Stainless Italy” on the handle, adding authenticity and completing the original serving set.
With its clean architectural lines, rich teak grain, and minimalist functionality, the piece embodies the appeal of Mid-Century Modern, Danish Modern, and Scandinavian-inspired entertaining design. Originally intended as a cheese, cracker, and snack serving set, it can also be used as a charcuterie board, appetizer tray, cocktail serving piece, barware accessory, or decorative tabletop accent.
The combination of vintage teak, original stainless-steel accessory, and clever integrated storage makes this an especially appealing piece for collectors of vintage teak, Mid-Century Modern barware, retro entertaining pieces, and 1960s–1970s kitchen and dining accessories.
