Circa 1920s. … Read more This Really is a Great Looking, Very Rare & Hard to Find Antique Cast Iron Heron Bird Doorstop. Circa 1920s. It has No Maker Mark but it Would have Been Made by The Albany Foundry in New York. The Albany Foundry Specialized in Undecorated "GREY IRON" Castings Meaning that They Were Not Painted when Sold. As it States in their 1926 Catalog

"To the Gift Shop Owner, The Decorator, or The Individual, This Line of Grey Iron Castings Presents Almost Unlimited Possibilities in The Scheme of Decoration". Note that This Doorstop is Identified as a Model Number 83 ( Also Marked in the Casting on the Backside - Base Area ). Please See the Photograph of Catalog Page in This Listing.

It Still Retains its Wonderful & Artistically all Original Multiple Color Hand Oil Painted Features.. It is in Excellent Condition - Displays Beautifully. No Damage - No Repairs.
