The elegant scissor-style form features broad rectangular serving blades, including a deeply fluted gripping surface, an elongated handle and refined spear-form detailing at the hinge. The sophisticated construction and restrained ornamentation give the piece a beautifully architectural quality characteristic of fine French tableware of the period.

The piece was acquired as Christofle. Its form and construction are consistent with period Christofle asparagus servers, and a faint, heavily worn stamp appears on the interior near the hinge. Because the mark is no longer sufficiently legible to independently confirm the maker, the piece is offered as attributed to Christofle.

Originally intended for serving asparagus, this sculptural utensil would also make an elegant addition to a collection of antique silver, French tableware or historic serving pieces.

Measures approximately 10” L x 2” W x 1” H.

In very good antique condition with surface scratches, tarnish, oxidation, patina and wear consistent with age and use. Darker wear is visible to the interior and working surfaces. The mechanism remains intact. Please review photographs closely for condition and the faint interior mark. See less
