The Scene: The central composition shows four figures in elaborate period costumes. A gentleman, holding a hat aloft, dances with a lady in a flowing pink gown. To their left, another couple is seated on a grassy knoll, with the gentleman playing a flute and the lady listening. The muted color palette of soft greens, beiges, rose pink, and purple is typical of vintage jacquard tapestries and gives it a gentle, aged feel.
