Heavy impasto gives the snowy peaks a sculptural quality that plays beautifully with natural light. The palette of crisp white, sky blue, and warm rust and amber tones bridges cool and warm schemes easily. The stepped gold-tone frame adds a traditional note that suits a library, study, or entry. The painting's compact scale makes it ideal for a gallery wall, a bookshelf lean, or a pairing with other small landscapes. The reverse carries a handwritten attestation of authorship from the artist's daughter. See less
