Durgin Co. Iris pattern small individual butter knives/spreaders, each measuring approximately 4 1/2 inches long. The celebrated Iris patter was introduced by Durgin in 1900 and features a distinctly Art Nouveau naturalistic iris blossom with long flowing leaves. Each knife has a hollow sterling silver handle stamped STERLING, with the maker's device above the sterling mark. The blades are separately fitted to the hollow handles. The blades are not represented as sterling. The set of 9 weighs 135 grams. This is gross weight and not 135 grams of sterling silver, because the handles are hollow and the blades are not represented as sterling. See less
