A wonderfully decorative vintage color lithograph titled “Royal Bird Hunters” by artist Diana Bennett. Pencil-signed “D. Bennett” at the lower right and numbered 224/300 at the lower left, this limited-edition work presents a richly patterned, Persian and Mughal miniature-inspired hunting scene.
Three elaborately dressed figures ride ornamented horses through a dense landscape of stylized flowering trees and foliage, carrying long-handled bird-catching nets beneath a lively flock in flight. Two slender hunting dogs accompany the procession. The saturated palette of cobalt blue, emerald green, coral red, golden yellow, and black is framed by an integral red geometric floral border.
The lithograph is presented in a gilt-finished custom frame with Tru Vue glazing. A framing label on the reverse identifies JoAnn of Art Custom Picture Framing of Marshall, Virginia. The reverse retains its paper dust cover and an installed hanging wire.
Acquired from a private estate collection. A striking example of late-20th-century decorative printmaking, combining equestrian imagery, courtly pageantry, and the intricate visual vocabulary of Persian-inspired miniature painting.

DESIGNER NOTES
“Royal Bird Hunters” has the layered, collected character that makes vintage artwork so compelling in an interior. Its equestrian subject, jewel-toned palette, and Persian-inspired ornament would be particularly effective in an English country library, traditional maximalist dining room, chinoiserie-inspired bedroom, or a Ralph Lauren-style study.
This is also an especially natural choice for a Nancy Meyers-inspired room: polished but relaxed, personal rather than overly coordinated, and suggestive of a home assembled thoughtfully over time. Display it above a console, writing desk, chest, or fireplace, or incorporate it into a salon-style gallery wall alongside landscapes, botanical studies, and antique portraits.

The gilt-finished frame shows age-appropriate wear, including light rubbing, scattered dark speckling, fine surface scratches, and minor finish wear. The glazing appears intact. The paper dust cover on the reverse shows rippling, creasing, discoloration, and a small puncture, none of which affects the artwork or its presentation. Hanging wire is installed and appears secure. Condition is based upon careful visual inspection while the artwork remains framed. Please review all photographs, as they form an important part of the condition description. less
