Constructed from five continuous vertical panels of black yarn worked in Tunisian crochet (afghan stitch), each section forms a rich, textured grid base for intricate hand-stitched floral embroidery. The bold, high-contrast black background highlights the botanical motifs, featuring white calla lilies, vibrant red and orange roses, violets, and lush green foliage. The vertical panels are joined with grey crocheted seams and finished with scalloped, fringe-trimmed edges along the top and bottom. A protective fabric backing/lining was previously added to the reverse, giving this piece an exceptionally substantial, heavy weight (7 lbs) and extra warmth.
The lining can be kept as-is, repaired, or easily removed depending on personal preference.
