A substantial and beautifully illustrated reference on the work of Tiffany Studios, Tiffany at Auction by noted decorative-arts scholar Alastair Duncan was published in 1981 by Rizzoli International Publications in association with Christie’s.
Drawing heavily upon works sold through Christie’s, the volume documents an extraordinary range of Tiffany objects, including stained-glass lamps and windows, vases, bronzes, mosaics, and other decorative works. More than simply a visual survey, the book was conceived as a serious collector’s reference, pairing extensive illustrations with individual object information and an unusually comprehensive identification index.
This copy retains its original Christie’s/Rizzoli “Price List — Supplement to Tiffany at Auction,” listing auction prices corresponding to the numbered objects illustrated in the book. The loose supplement is an especially interesting survival, preserving the contemporary market information that accompanied the publication and giving collectors a fascinating snapshot of Tiffany prices at the beginning of the 1980s.

The original dust jacket shows noticeable age and use, including rubbing and edge wear, small tears and losses, particularly around the spine and corners, and scattered surface wear. A pencil mark is present on the rear endpaper. The original loose Christie’s/Rizzoli price-list supplement is present and shows light age-related handling wear. Please review photographs closely for the condition of the dust jacket and supplement; the wear is primarily concentrated on the jacket, while the book itself presents very nicely. less
