A wonderfully decorative pair of mid-20th-century Italian porcelain table lamps designed in the form of classical harps. Each lamp is richly embellished with hand-applied dimensional porcelain flowers, scrolling Rococo-style ornament, gilt accents, and softly colored pastel glazes in blush pink, pale green, cream, blue, and yellow.
The sculptural harp-form bodies are especially distinctive, with delicate string detailing, floral garlands, raised scrollwork, and small cherub-like figures incorporated into the design. A metal plaque marked “ITALY” is present on one of the lamps, supporting their Italian origin.
The lamps retain their vintage brass-toned sockets and fittings and present beautifully as a matched pair. Their elaborate floral decoration and romantic palette make them particularly well suited to Hollywood Regency, Rococo Revival, traditional, or maximalist interiors.
A charming and highly decorative pair with considerably more visual presence than typical floral porcelain lamps of the period.
