An elegant Danish dressing table/desk from the 1960s, representative of the meticulous craftsmanship of Scandinavian furniture from that period.
Behind its deliberately understated silhouette lies an ingenious piece of furniture with a dual function. The central top lifts to reveal a large retractable mirror, as well as a compartmentalized interior space for accessories. When closed, the mirror disappears completely, and the dressing table transforms into a small desk or console table.
The design is distinguished by the lightness of its base and the quality of its details. The four slender legs are connected by stretchers with delicately rounded joints.
The contrast between this dark structure and the particularly expressive wood grain adds considerable depth to the piece.
The furniture retains a label from the Danish Furnituremakers' Control, the Danish furniture quality control organization. This marking provides valuable information for documenting its origin and level of craftsmanship.
Good vintage condition, with some signs of wear and small marks consistent with its age, visible in the photographs.
