The set comprises … Read more This is a superb antique set of ten High Regency period dining chairs, Circa 1820 in date. The set comprises eight side chairs and two open armchairs. They have been crafted from hand-carved solid flame mahogany of the highest quality, each with beautifully carved bar backs and centre splats above stuffed seats that have just been reupholstered in the finest burgundy velvet. They are raised on elegant reeded front legs with sabre rear legs, The chairs are a rich mahogany colour with a striking grain and good patina. The botanical name for the mahogany these chairs are made of is Swietenia macrophylla, and this type of mahogany is not subject to CITES regulation.

Condition: In excellent condition, having been beautifully cleaned, polished, waxed and reupholstered in our workshops; please see photos for confirmation.
