Elevate a curated shelf, curiosity cabinet, or upscale bar cart with this exquisite pair of authentic 19th-century Victorian Burmese art glass tumblers. Masterfully hand-blown by the acclaimed Mount Washington Glass Company of Massachusetts circa 1885, this original matching set beautifully represents the height of the American Aesthetic Movement.
The tumblers feature a breathtaking, ethereal color gradient that seamlessly melts from a soft, sun-kissed peach-pink blush down into a warm, creamy yellow bottom. Each glass is finished with a signature matte satin texture that is incredibly velvety and soft to the touch. Beyond their elegant daytime display quality, these historic tumblers hide a magical secret: the inclusion of trace uranium oxide in the original formula allows both pieces to radiate a luminous, brilliant neon-green glow under ultraviolet light—making them fantastic conversation starters.
Unmarked as was textbook protocol for the factory, both tumblers proudly show their hand-crafted lineage with deep, smoothly sculpted concave polished pontil scars on the bases. Standing at a classic 3.75 inches tall, this rare surviving duo is in excellent antique condition with wonderfully matched dimensions and exceptional color preservation. A magnificent find for discerning collectors of fine historic Americana, grandmillennial interiors, or unique antique art glass.
