Antique Ornate Reticulated Wood Wall Mirror | Cream & Gilt | 24" x 28"

A beautifully ornate antique wall mirror featuring an elaborate reticulated wood frame with pierced scrolling foliage, dimensional floral corner details, and a wonderfully aged cream and gilt finish.

This is a particularly striking piece. The outer frame is heavily decorated with openwork scrolls and acanthus-style foliage, while an ivory-toned inner molding surrounds an additional decorative border framing the mirror glass. Layers of softly worn gold, cream, gray and darker patina highlight the dimensional details and give the mirror the character that only comes with age.

The highly decorative design is reminiscent of Rococo and Baroque Revival interiors, with an old-world European feel that works beautifully in traditional, French-inspired, maximalist, Hollywood Regency and collected interiors.

At approximately 24" x 28", it is substantial enough to make a statement while remaining versatile enough for many spaces.

Beautiful displayed above a console or chest, over a powder-room vanity, in an entryway, bedroom or dressing area, or incorporated into a collected gallery wall.

CONDITION

This is an antique piece and displays significant age-related character and patina.

The frame shows crazing, surface cracking, finish wear, areas of gilding loss, small losses and imperfections to the decorative elements. There is visible cracking within some of the floral and carved details. The mirror glass also displays age-related spotting, marks and imperfections.

These characteristics have been left intact rather than refinished and contribute to the beautifully timeworn appearance of the piece.

Please review all photographs carefully, as they are considered part of the condition description.
