An exceptionally detailed vintage rectangular serving platter / hollowware dish manufactured by the Crown Silver Company (New York / Brookline, MA). This piece showcases the opulent, formal table styling popular in early-to-mid 20th-century American homes.
The heavy, fine silver-plated serving tray features a gently contoured, scalloped rectangular silhouette. The broad outer rim is embellished with an intricate, heavily raised repoussé border composed of classical scrolls, blooming floral rosettes, and trailing garlands. The interior wells are decorated with an elaborate, finely chased floral and scrollwork medallion motif framing a smooth, unmonogrammed central mirror face
The underside of the rim is stamped with the authentic, clear Crown Silver Co. maker's mark: an ornate heraldic shield topped with an open five-point crown, flanked by the stylized letters "C" and "S" in a elegant gothic font.Dimensions
