The design … Read more A refined mid-20th century French Maison Jansen style brass and green marble coffee table, sourced in Provence, France. The design draws from Louis XVI and neoclassical forms, combining a richly veined green marble top with an elegant brass frame. The base features four slender fluted legs terminating in tapered feet with ball-form tips. An X-form stretcher connects the legs beneath the table, centered by a decorative circular medallion with radiating fluting and a small finial. The restrained ornamentation, classical proportions and combination of brass and marble are characteristic of the French neoclassical revival designs associated with Maison Jansen during the mid-20th century. The deep green marble is particularly striking, with dramatic white and lighter green veining throughout, contrasting beautifully with the warm aged brass.
