The architectural lanterns are inset with richly coloured amber textured glass, illuminating finely detailed pierced panels depicting historic sailing ships, and surmounted by elaborate scrolling Gothic ornament and wonderfully sculptural heraldic dragon finials. The bases are particularly attractive, cast in openwork with stylised Gothic foliage and quatrefoil-like ornament, the whole retaining a beautifully aged dark bronze patina. An exceptionally decorative matched pair, combining Gothic Revival, heraldic and maritime influences, and producing a wonderfully warm amber light when illuminated.

Probably American, circa 1910–1930. Condition wise we have deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished them from top to bottom, they have been professionally restored, rewired and PAT tested, there may be some age and use related patina marks based on normal use and transport
