An exceptional, vintage Mackenzie-Childs large centerpiece serving bowl in the highly collectible and retired "Brittany" pattern. Measuring a commanding 14 5/8 inches in diameter, this substantial terracotta piece serves as a masterclass in early Aurora-era maximalist design. Crafted with a wide sloping rim and elevated on a classic raised foot ring, the bowl anchors any table setting or display cabinet with immediate sculptural presence.
True to the whimsical heritage of Mackenzie-Childs, this piece features a vibrant, entirely hand-decorated palette. The design balances alternating bands of deep purple, soft gray, sage green, and periwinkle blue along the rim. A waving, free-form orange border transitions into a sunny yellow center punctuated by hand-painted white dots. The underside reveals the rich, warm, exposed terracotta body and bears the authentic Mackenzie-Childs pottery mark underfoot.
