The composition is arranged on a table draped in a rich blue cloth with a white linen runner beneath it, and centers on a dark, ornate coffee pot flanked by a footed silver or gold compote overflowing with green grapes, pears, and other fruit. A small ceramic sugar shaker and glass sit to the left near a dark earthenware jug, while loose grape clusters and a halved pear spill across the foreground.

A deep blue drapery with tasseled trim fills the upper right background, giving the piece a traditional, Old Master-style sense of depth and drama. The palette leans warm and earthy through the fruit and tabletop, contrasted against the cool blue of the cloth and curtain. See less
