A sculptural vintage cast-iron plant stand or display pedestal in the Neoclassical Revival taste. The piece features a tall fluted column embellished with molded collars and foliate details, rising from a substantial domed hub with a radiating shell-form accent.
Three elongated, ridged legs sweep outward to create a dramatic 31-inch-wide tripod footprint. Above, a restrained 12-inch circular surface provides an elegant platform for a potted plant, sculpture, vase, or treasured decorative object.
The aged black painted finish retains scattered chips, rubbing, scratches, and areas of oxidation that lend the pedestal an appealing timeworn character. No identifiable maker’s mark was observed. Construction details suggest a late-20th-century decorative interpretation of classical and Regency forms.
