Designed … Read more A highly collectible and rare Czechoslovak art glass vase designed by Stanislav Libenský (1921–2002) for the renowned Škrdlovice glassworks.

Designed in 1977, the vase belongs to Libenský’s Model 7713 series and is identified as Model 7713/15.

The compact spherical form is made from substantial hand-shaped clear glass enclosing a rich green internal core surrounded by a contrasting cobalt-blue spiral. The precisely arranged spiral creates a striking three-dimensional optical effect, changing dramatically according to the viewing angle and light.

Despite its relatively compact dimensions, the considerable mass of glass, intense colour combination and strongly defined internal structure give the vase a powerful sculptural presence.

Model 7713 is a documented Škrdlovice design by Stanislav Libenský from 1977 and represents a distinctive example of late-1970s Czechoslovak art glass.
