A superb and highly collectible early Art Nouveau earthenware vase designed by William Moorcroft during his famous tenure at James Macintyre & Co. in Burslem, Staffordshire (circa 1898–1900).

Collector's Note: Designed by William Moorcroft at the age of 26, shortly after joining James Macintyre & Co. in 1897. Unlike his later hand-painted ranges (such as Florian Ware or independent Moorcroft Pottery pieces founded in 1913), the Aurelian Ware series was produced under the Macintyre company banner and features the classic printed JMC mark. It represents one of the most celebrated early chapters in Moorcroft’s career and is a cornerstone piece for collectors of British Art Nouveau ceramics. This piece has an attribution mark,
