Pair of Satsuma ceramic vases, richly decorated with figures in traditional costumes, as well as numerous symbolic motifs and gilded ornaments on a polychrome background.
The exquisitely executed decoration features scenes of figures and traditional Japanese motifs, with extensive gilding and polychrome enamel work. This type of production is characteristic of Japan, Meiji period, late 19th century.
These vases offer exceptional decorative quality and exquisite craftsmanship, both in the design and the gilding.
Highly decorative, they can be displayed as a pair on a mantelpiece, console table, or sideboard.
