A set of three French art deco floral motif wall sconces circa 1925-1935 in nickel-plated cast bronze or solid brass. They hold Lorrain tulip shades in clear frosted molded-pressed glass. They are signed Lorrain Nancy France. The sconces are 9.37 inches (23,8cm) high, 7.09"(18cm) deep and the shades have a diameter of 4.06"(10,3cm). The wall lights are in excellent condition. I have re-nickeled and patinated the three mounts and rewired them. For the USA Canada and Japan I placed US candelabra base sockets. For European countries I will place E14 ones.

On Lorrain: In 1926 the famous Daum glass manufacturers opened a new plant in the village of Croismare near Luneville. A year later it started a production of pressed glassware. The new company 'Les Verreries d'Art Lorrain" merged with the one Daum already owned in this village "Les verreries de belle étoile". For these plants the Daum company employed the well-known designer Pierre d'Avesn , who till that time worked for René Lalique, as its artistic director. d'Avesn stayed in office till the Lorrain branch closed down in 1934. Some prestigious Lorrain models were signed P.d'Avesn like the bowl of this lamp. After the bankruptcy of Lorrain d'Avesn became the director of the Hanots/Verlys glass manufactory of the Holophane company.
