The elaborate interlaced design has the character of historic decorative needlework, with scrolling, knotted and arabesque forms arranged within a shield-like outline. The restrained palette of natural linen, warm gold and soft silver gives the piece a sophisticated architectural quality.

Presented beneath glass with a wide ivory mat accented by fine ruled borders. The substantial dark wood frame is finished with a distressed gilt inner molding, giving the work a particularly rich designer presentation.
