A spectacular vintage Moroccan-style hanging lantern featuring richly colored iridescent glass and ornate metalwork.
This elongated, tapered lantern is composed of translucent red, orange, amber and pink-toned glass with an incredible iridescent quality that shifts dramatically with the light. The glass is surrounded by elaborate silver-toned antiqued metalwork featuring scrolling and floral motifs, scalloped detailing and decorative openwork.
The approximately 10-inch tapered lantern body is suspended from three delicate chains and finished with a pointed, sculptural lower finial and a charming dangling metal bead ornament.
Designed as a hanging tea light/candle holder, the lantern becomes especially beautiful when illuminated, allowing the jewel-toned glass to glow while the decorative metalwork creates additional texture and shadow.
The combination of the elongated silhouette, richly colored glass, intricate metal detailing and decorative hanging elements gives this piece a wonderful Moroccan/Moorish-inspired character.
