Overview
This exquisite 1950s Murano mid-century Italian art glass miniature cabinet vase features a stunning latticino zanfirico ribbon design. A highly collectible find, the clear glass matrix displays a beautiful, soft manganese glow under a 365nm UV blacklight, validating its authentic mid-century Italian formulation [Manganese Glass].
Design & Craftsmanship
Standing at just 2.5 inches tall, this diminutive piece showcases incredible technical precision and the masterful hand-blown craftsmanship required to manipulate complex filigree canes on a tiny scale. The vase features alternating vertical ribbons of pristine white latticino mesh lattice work perfectly balanced by vibrant pink twisted glass ribbons. Elevating its brilliance, the pink ribbons are delicately outlined with copper aventurine flecks that shimmer beautifully under direct light. The body features a classic hourglass form tapering down to a professionally ground and polished concave pontil base, flaring gracefully out into a gently ruffled rim.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. Free of any chips, cracks, or repairs. The glass retains its brilliant clarity, luster, and structural integrity. The underside features a smoothly finished, ground-out concave pontil mark that is entirely clean and indicative of high-tier Murano glass production.
