The tapering handle is crisply detailed with a column of tiny bellflower drops, an acanthus leaf at the shoulder and another at the tip, and a fine reeded border that follows the whole length of the stem.

The oval cartouche at the center of the handle is left plain, waiting to be monogrammed, which makes this a lovely piece to personalize as a gift or to set apart on your own table.

The bowl measures 3 inches by 3.25 inches, with a pinched lip on each side for pouring, and is well sized for gravy, pan sauces, cream sauces, hollandaise, or a spoonful of vinaigrette. Silverplate is a practical choice for a working table: it is far more forgiving than sterling for everyday use and holiday dinners.
