A striking Chinese ceramic sculpture featuring a dynamic horse in a galloping pose, with one hoof resting lightly on a swallow, a classic motif known as "Horse Treading on a Swallow" (Ma Ta Fei Yan). The piece is finished in a beautiful Jun ware style flambe glaze, displaying a mix of mottled blue, grey, and purple tones, accented with striking splashes of crimson red on the mane and body. The underside of the base is unglazed and bears an impressed Chinese seal mark.
