Celebrate the beauty of enduring love and simple domestic joys with this heartwarming Vintage Shiwan Ware figural sculpture. Depicting an elderly couple sharing a foot-soaking ritual, this piece is a touching example of Chinese folk art, capturing a moment of intimacy, care, and companionship.
Design & Symbolism:
The Scene: The sculpture features an elderly man and woman sitting on rustic stools, their feet soaking in a large wooden basin. The man gestures warmly while the woman listens attentively, creating a scene of deep connection.
Detailed Attire: The figures are dressed in traditional, modest clothing. The woman wears hoop earrings, and the man has a traditional bald head with sideburns.
Rustic Details: The wooden stools, the textured basin, and the wooden clogs (geta) lying on the ground add incredible realism to the scene.
Symbolism: This scene represents "同享同乐" (Tóng xiǎng tóng lè), meaning "Shared Joy" or "Enjoying Happiness Together," symbolizing a harmonious and loving marriage in old age.
