An original early 20th-century horse racing etching by Latvian-American artist Nat Lowell (1880–1956).
Lowell captures the excitement of the race with a tightly grouped field of horses and jockeys shown at full stride. Executed with lively, expressive linework, the monochromatic composition has the timeless quality of classic sporting art and would be especially handsome in a library, study, equestrian home or collected gallery wall.
Original etching on paper, pencil signed “Nat Lowell” at lower right. Matted, framed and presented under glass.
Frame measures approximately 18” × 14 5/8”; sight approximately 12 3/4” × 9 3/8”.
Vintage condition with wear consistent with age, including wear to the frame. Please review photographs as part of the condition description.
