Bands of scrollwork, beading, and floral motifs wrap the entire body, and every band has a different pattern, from rolling waves of scrolls to tiny rosettes. It's the kind of piece that looks better the closer you get.

Inside is a surprise: the fine woven bamboo interior is lacquered a deep cobalt blue, and the same blue continues onto the underside and small corner feet. A tall, wrapped rattan handle arches over the top.

It works as a statement catchall on a console or entry table, as a cachepot for a potted orchid (with a liner), or to hold magazines, throws, or firewood. The gold and blue pair beautifully with blue-and-white porcelain, chinoiserie, and traditional interiors.
